Stock collant temp guage

Where does your temp guage sit when idling? I just got the Hypermax500 head gasket and ARP head bolts installed. Mine sists exactly in the middle. Same as before with stock parts (blown head gasket). I am guessing this is normal. Any input would help. Thanks!

With my Scangauge2 in the Excursion 6.0....Mine fluctuates from 180 to 220 depending on the temps. 180-190 in the morning going to work (80 outside). About 200-209 coming home from work (freeway, 100+ outside). I have seen it hit 220-225 pulling 4000lb trailer up a big grade at 70 mph when the temps are 107.

With all that fluctuation...the stock needle NEVER moved a bit!

Let me tell you...I thought my truck was going to take off when that fan kicked in full speed!! WOW.

It should be right around 190. All our JD thermostats are 190's and other trucks as well.
