Stupid question?

Hi to all,
I am in the phase of bolting on the converter/C6 onto the engine, forgot to take pics as usual!I don't remember if the converter studs go into the large holes or the small holes of the flywheel, doesn't seem that the flanges on the nuts can go into the small holes but just wan't to make sure as this is an engine swap,6.9 to 7.3.
Thanks for your replies!

Are you re-using the old flexplate and starter ring gear. If so you should have the old markings on the flexplate from the old nuts. It is not good to have slack in the stud holes on the flex plate.

The flex plate on my 7.3l with the E4OD only had four holes so there was no choice I remember when the Pulled the E40D tranny earlier this year.

Seb....

Hi Hamberger!

Well, the thing is that there are two holes side by side one small round one and one bigger oval one on the FLYWHEEL, these are located at four locations on the flywheel, twelve oclock,3 oclock,6 oclock and 9 oclock, one to recieve the stud and the other to eventually receive the converter drain plug.It is the original converter, flex plate and flywheel from the 7.3, I tightened the nuts on the studs in the bigger holes and there is no slack ,I can see the drain plug for the converter in the small round hole too.I suppose these are the right locations since I would not be able to put a socket in the smaller hole, hope I was clear!

if i remember correctly, the converter studs go through the small holes, and the large hole is for access to the converter drain plug.
