Bed floor and supports

Since the vast majority of the 61-66 trucks have the front of the styleside bed rusted out, has anyone found replacement parts?
I found out the JC withney has patch panels but I don't know if the ribbing would match up or not.
As an alternative, I thought about replacing the ribbed metal with wood and leaving the flat panels alond the sides. I think it's possible but i would need the support members first.

Any suggestions?

Bed floor and supports

LAST EDITED ON 19-Aug-01 AT 01:19 AM (EST)[p]I had to make a repair panel for the front of my 64. It was pretty easy since it's all flat (no ribs). A sheet metal shop can whip you one out in no time. I'll send you the dimensions if ya want.
The bed floor was another problem. I found a NOS complete floor at a swap meet, but didn't like the $600 price. I did some measuring and found that the ribbed center part on the 64-66 floor is the same size as the floor in my 81 F-150. The ribs are different and the mounting holes are to, but that piece would be easier to get ($) and install if you want a "stock" look. I ended up using flat 1/16" steel since I'm going to put in a sprayed in liner anyhow. Also, be advised that cutting out the entire floor and welding in a new one is a BIG job. Good luck, Phil
