E-series questions

Well my work is retiring our 94 Chevy G30 van with 300,000 flawless miles. The question I have is my boss wants to give Ford a second chance with there E-series, he is looking for at least 2002 and up. We need it to haul 6-7,000 lbs occasionally and be very reliable and good on gas. What are some things to look out for/avoid and do you guys know what motors are available and what they get mpg wise he is leaning towards a diesel. thanks

Ford's diesel is the best, STAY AWAY from GM diesels! Fords seem to have a better suspension/chassis too. The Chevy/GMC 1 ton vans are no match for the E350. Ford's electronics are much more reliable. Check out the reviews at www.carreview.com

I'd go with an E350 with 6.8l V10. Nobody knows how the new diesel fuel is going to work out yet.
