hey guys i am doing bodywork on my 1995 f-150 i put in the very big patchpanels in the bed and i been applying and sanding tons.. I was wondering is there any way i can make sanding goes any quicker? I am using a board sander and using 40grit paper.
thanks,
jimmy
40 grit does wear out though it seems rough the cutting edge of the grit wears quickly once it hits metal - even a little. I buy a lot of sandpaper and probably don't get all I can from it but for me thats ok- nerve damage and positioning problems etc.
air tools for shaping too. I have really liked using the smaller electric sander for shaping- I use the 30-40 grit with it and don't have to worry about maintaining air pressure.
make sure you take all that i say with a healthy grain as i know far less than most here.
i use the porter cable electric sanders they hold up very well. i have had mine for over a year and use it almost every day with no complaints so far. just my 2 cents worth
