need shifters for dummies
To start I tried posting on trany posts its been 4 hours no reply I need help I am pulling the engine and trans out of my f150 its a 1987 with a 4 speed trans its a borg warner and the numbers on side are 18-01-085-907 with 2255 up above that and I got the boot off the shifter and cant see how to get it to release that dang thing wont come out there are no bolts to unscrew its got like a cap that looks like it should unscrew and Ive tried but I dont want to break it is it left threads or is there some trick to it? thanks in advance

well as soon as i got off work I went right at it I got it off it did unscrew just needed a little persuasion from hammer and a screwdriver im so happy im gonna take tonight off ill pull it tommorow thanks for your replies i hope i can help you some day
