can the ball joints in my 96 Bronco's steering link be replaced or do I have to replace the entire link? The rubber things that hold the grease in them are all ruptured and I need to replace them. I know if I have to replace the whole link I have to go through the whole alignment process all over again, and I'd like to avoid that.
Try checking around at the parts stores and see if they sell replacement parts (the rubber dust seat). If they do, it would stand to reason that you can just unbolt the cross link from the drag link. In my Haynes it doesn't have a break down of how to do it, but it does say that any of the tie rod/ball joints can be replaced.
