Thumbs up Need Some suspension suggestions please...

I have a 76 F-100, with a 460. I have owned it now for bout 6 years. It is a strong running truck. I really would like to lift it and run 35 inch tires. So can anyone suggest which would be the best lift to go with? Also I am not to smart and gears and stuff. It is a standard with the granny. So I guess what I am asking is I what should I do with the drive train to give the best results for traction when I go mudding? Is the a good book out there at anyone could recommend to me so I can read up on axles, gears ratios, lockers, and that type of stuff for ole blue? Last thing, ole blue starting to rust on me. Where is a good place to order new body parts? Thanks for your help!

Go to the Off-Road forum and look around, do some searches on those topics. Tons of stuff in there. You shouldn't need a whole lot of lift to run 35's. A couple of inches maximum, if anything at all. You could probably regear your axles to 4.10 or so. That would make up for the larger tires. How hard are you plsnning on whellin it. A little on weekends then drive to work during the week, strictly off road?

I bought new springs from NAPA for my 77. When I asked for them they had a 4" lift for the same price. $75 front - $95 rear.

You can get body parts from almost anywhere but the best parts will say original tooling - several people sell these - but they will cost.
