I bought a set of black wagon wheels from PepBoys 4 years ago, just a simple wheel, nothing fancy, I'd liketo have some shiny aluminum ones now, but can't afford them.
The alloys (16.50 x 10 - 8x6.50) cost $159 brand new.
I just bought a used set of four tires and rims off www.craigslist.org just to get the tires (33s) and I plan on E-BAYing the rims because I prefer steel rims off road.
After comparing the two, I say the steel rims probably weight 20+ pounds more and with larger tires that weight adds up. Though on a 6-7K pound van that is like drinking a diet soda with a Big Mac.
The alloys do look much nicer then the steel and chrome, even when new.
carrfamilynj, you DO NOT need 8 X 170mm rims for an E350 unless you have a 4X4 conversion. Vans use 8 X 6.5", Super Duty trucks use 8 X 170mm. Rims from GM and Dodge 3/4 and 1 ton vehicles are 8 X 6.5" and will fit. Make sure any rims you buy are rated for your max load.
Yea, so I guess the full-size vans stayed SAE, and the SD trucks went metric?
Between craigslist and ebay, there's definitely plenty of wheels out there, especially in the 8 X 6.5 size. Just gotta watch the backspacing.Speaking of which, what is it on these vans?
For a 2004 E350 extended(15 pass), what does the weight capacity for each wheel need to be?
From your door sticker, your rear gross axle weight rating is 6084 lbs. That means that each of your tires and rims need to be rated for at least 3042 lbs
