Has anybody used the front 2.5" leveling spring kits sold in the Summit Racing catalog? What do You think of them and do they seem last. Do they seem to hold there shape.
I have the Pro-Comp 2.5" on my 99, they work real well, it is a real good possibilitythey are made by the same spring company, Mexico more than likely, I would call Summit and see who makes them, or where they are made. Just a side note, if you are going to tow with it, you might want to look at air bags for the rear, my 99 SD really squatted once I had the leveling springs on it, and had a trailer hooked up.
it probably does not squat any more than it did before but now the truck sits level with no payload or trailer. now when you put something on the back it looks like it sits low in the rear. it would be level if you did not have the leveling kit on it. depending on why you put the kit on to begin with, was it because you like the look of a level truck when its unloaded? because if that is the case, you need some air bags to get the truck level when you have a load in it. if you put blocks in the rear, it will make it higher in the rear, which is the way stock is, but when you put something in it, it will level out.air bags let you have the best of both, level, loaded and unloaded.
Yes, I have the airbags on it, they were ordered when I put the front springs on, was waiting for them when I went and got the camper. Yes I wanted a bit more room to run 33x12.50's and not rub.
i run a 305/45/22= 33" tire and just have the v springs. but it didn't rub before, i just wanted a level truck. can the air bags be inflated to give more height in the rear?
in that case i would just air up the bags to the same height as the front then. that way you have a level truck, enough room to fit the 33's, and enough air to hold the cargo.
