I was just wondering about the emblems on my 66. Mine has the five stars on it then a gear cog with a lighting bolt going throught it. This same emblem is also on my floormat on the tranny hump.Is that emblem the one that came on 66's with six cylinders in them?
The hood emblem with the gear and lightening bolt denotes I6 and with the V8 the 352. The G&L emblem was first used many years earlier, and can be found in the places that you mentioned.

In the cool still quiet of night you can hear chevies rusting away.
Your are correct on the hood emblem.I think on the floor mat they were all like that with standard cab and they were black in color.Custom cabs were different.
