Hello, just changed the front pads on my 91 and now the brake pedal feels soft. I bled the MC and the front and rears to try and correct. Am I missing something here? Sorry, it's an Explorer, got the wrong forum. Are the brakes the same?
did you open the bleeder before forcing back the caliper pistons? if not, water corrosion and brake fluid puss goop in RABS valve, combination valve and master cylinder
did you put in new stainless steel chromed slid pins?
did you wire brush the caliper and suspension arm slide areas and apply a light coating of hi temp brake grease?
did you replace the old flex hoses, they break down from the inside, expand from the pressure and cause spongey brakes with poor return
No I didn't open the bleeder before compressing the piston, had an overflow at the MC. Is there a way I may have upset the RABS? and can I reset it? Thank you.
