Fuel Guage Question

My dad has a 2005 F350 with the larger fuel tank (I think if 37 gallons v. 29 gallons). The most he has ever been able to put in my tank is about 31 gallons despite running it to nearly empty a couple of times causing the warning light/buzzer to come on. Is it possible the fuel guage is calibrated for the smaller tank, if in fact they are calibrated, or is there something else causing the gauge to show empty when in fact it appears to be 6 -7 gallons of fuel left. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

look at the tank..see the size of it? now picture 5-6 gallons laying flat in the bottom of that..it's accurate.

i didn't know these things had a low fuel warning.how low does it have to be for it to go off?i've never had mine,05 v10 f350,below 1/4 tank but just curious.
