Hey, Im 17 Years old rite now, and most of the threads i posted are for my dads new 7.3 in his 02 superduty. Well in 6 Months il be turning 18 and he told me he will co sign for me to get my own. So im askin... How many miles on a 7.3 or 6.0 are to much?? My dads 7.3 has 112000 and runs like brand new. I dont rly like the head lights on the 99-01 BUT! i looked on ebay and they do have some pretty awesome looking aftermarket head lights. Another thing is I want a 4x4 for sure. I dont care if its a single cab long box, but after that no long box. Crew or extended are my favorites ( more room for subwoofers)
But what is a good price to pay for one of these. Are there any that i can maby get in the 12 thousand price range with lower miles?? Ive been lookin on ebay and eighter they are 250 thousand miles on there and cheep. Or 80 thousand and Way over my price range. I just cant seem to find one in between. Any help would be great. Thanks
I just purchased an '02 Super Crew 4x4 7.3 with 61,000 for $21,000. The price was right so I jumped on it. I am thinking that if you are willing to take one with more miles, say 100,000, you could find one at the right price but you will have to be patient and keep your eyes open.
My '99 Super Cab 7.3 has 120,000 miles on it and it drives like brand new. Haven't had one problem with the truck so I really don't think the 100,000 mile mark should be anything to deter you.
yea, be paient and you will find one, i was living in europe for a few years and when i got back to the states i looked and looked for a used diesel but couldn't find one that was either way over mileage or not very many miles but way over priced.
i eventually settled for a 2004 i found that was below bluebook but still over my budget, i really needed something to drive so i bought it, then recently traded that in on a new 2006 for all of $20 more a month.
as far as your price range, i think that will defintly take you out of the newer diesel market but you can pick up a mid 90's for that, there are plenty of regualr cab diesels, but they didn't make short bed scab's or crew then.
