I ordered replacement ***** for my 64 f100, both vent's, light switch. heater / fan and wiper ****'s. The light switch **** was a piece of cake as for the other's they were'nt exactly a perfect fit. In fact, two were threaded and two were with set screws. Now there was nothing wrong with my old ones other then the white inserts were in bad shape, one was missing one was cracked the other two were chipped. When I couldn't make the new ones work I cut one of the new ***** in half to see about getting the white insert off no problem just push from behind and it popped right off. As for the old one's well those inserts are put on with a glue that you pretty much had to chip off. After doing this I transplanted all new white inserts onto old ***** what a difference it just makes the dash cleaner and newer looking. Just thought I'd share
I'll post a picture in my gallery in a little while.
I think some where along the line someone must have glued those buttons in. Mine started to shrink with age and fall out. I do a lot of business with a local machine shop and took one over to him to see if he would mass produce a bunch for me for just this reason. I was thinking that if he didn't want alot for them I would sell them by the set. Well insted he nade me about ten of them and didn't charge me. The came out realy good.
Robert, cant wait to see that pic.
i love that truck.. looks great lowered. what did you use to achieve that ride height, and how rough is the ride compared to stock? and does it eat tires up?
I just uploaded two pictures they are 18 & 19 in my gallery. Shows the **** with white inserts as best as I can photograph them
Hey Rick, ride heighth was acheived by putting a Volare front and cranking it down. The rear springs are now under instead of on top of rear end the frame was c-notched. As for the ride Sweeeeeettt. haven't eaten any tires yet, but the day is only half gone.
