here we go again with the fuel economy thing, ok I just ran a tank and got just under 12mpg, I did not hot foot at all, I stayed under 2k rpm thru every gear, I have a 2000 psd, 6637, rwd, 3.73, 33's and a 4in lift, hypertech, 4in turbo back, what gives, what are some thing I can do the improve on fuel economy, are tired injecters the prob???, I just did a fuel filter change, oil change, tranny flush, what should check for next???? is there an in line fuel filter that could be old??????, thanks
Wow you have a 2wd and that low of mileage. Hmmmm.
No ideas here unless all your tires are really low and soft.
I replaced my injectors several months ago and the mileage didn't go up but maybe .5mpg.
Does the hypertech scan for codes? Pretty sure you have a problem with something. I have never seen under 14mpg averaging out a tank even pulling and hotrodding around. I'm sure somebody with similar experience will chime in soon.
I'd say tire size and check the pressure. you would be surprised how much of a difference that makes.
I actually for this test set the pressure at 55 on all the tires with a digital gauge, so they were perfect. unfortunitly my hypertech doesnt scan, I might just take it somewhere to diagnose what wrong. (this sux)
I have an 03 f250 4x4, and pulling the horse trailer I have gotten between 10.5-11 mpg. stock or with the hypertech. I don't have oversized tires or a lift kit.
It has not but I checked with a gps and Im off only about .10 fro every 10miles, it was way off when I had 38's, but it crused at 75 at 1800rpms, I love my truck just disappointed with mileage so far. Oh well guess I'll take the money im not paying in car payments and take it to a shop!!
How long of trips are you going on? That will affect your mileage as well. It seems that going empty for only 15 miles back and forth to work I get about 13 but if I drive further distances (less stops ect.) I get better gas mileage.
Whats your boost #'s? I don't have a lift but when I took off the 33's that came on the truck and went back to stock it brought it from 13 to 15 then I went hunting for a boost leak and now am at 18. Hopefully when I get some mods done this winter I can get it over 20. The warden is finally letting me feed my PMS
