TS Chip'd Trucks

Im going to have my chip that is a TS performance chip (it was reburn'd by someone the previous owner knew) get reburn back to TS performance programming. Its a four pos. I dont know which settings i want, I need one for towing, economy, and just an extreme setting. I was thinking about 50, 75, and 140+. Which one did you guys see the best economy with? Should i ditch using the first postion as stock and just go with 50, 75, 100, 140+?

They should all work good other than the 140. you would need big oil and injectors to get much more than the 100 hp could offer. I personally would go with stock or anti theft, 50, 75, 100.

I don't really see much benefit over the 100 at 140, but I've not dynoed mine either. Strokin-it may be able to help there. I know that the 140 is very harsh on my truck and I don't think my stock tranny likes it.

I don't know why a stock setting should cost anything to occupy a space. Isn't it just bypass? If not, why get charged for what you have?

Having said all of that, I would opt for a stock setting just to go to in case you run into trouble and want to eliminate the chip in your troubleshooting without removing it. Even then, sometimes it still has to come out just to be sure.

i would opt for stock, 50, 100 and 140. i find myself using 100 all the time, i get about 14-15mpg with my massive foot . 140 is good for smoke, but only netted me 8hp on the dyno over the 100 program.

I'd go with stock, high idle, 50, and 100.

I use my high idle a lot during the winter to warm up the truck, and i use 50 for daily driving. 75 never gets used, when i want to play i go straight to 100. 140+ doesn't feel like that much more power than 100, just a bunch of smoke and advanced timing that makes my engine sound like its grinding away. But my chip is about 2 years old, maybe the programs have changed since then?

Not close...... Sold my TS for one of Jody's. Absolutely no comparison in performace and shifting with the 4R100.

They told me it was 50$ for a complete reburn with any programs i wanted on it. So i was thinking about eliminating the stock one because i can easily take the chip out and i could put one more program on it. 100 would be the best for the milage and 140 is basically a 100 smoke tune?

This wouldn't be the 1st time I'm wrong, but I think I remember a post some time back saying all those guys agree not to burn on each other's chips. Somebody will come along soon and set me straight if I'm mistaken.

That may be, but the former DP 6pos chip was a TS manufactured unit if I'm not mistaken. So the capability should be there. Now as for the willingness, that is another question. I have querried Diane on one of her post about this and got no response. Curiosly, this leads me to believe there is validity to the not re-burning other vendors chips. Well, so be it, if she couldn't tell me that much, I'm still motoring along with the TS. Working just fine for me for now.

I guess I can see why they do it. But if I was DP I'd re-burn anybody's chip with my tunes as long as the quality of the chip was good enough not to risk ruining my good name. And if I was anybody other than DP I'd be glad DP agreed to it.

IF IT IS TRUE......

I thought the same and wanted to test the waters. I've not called or followed up but I got no initial response. I would love to have a 6pos chip with perhaps 3 TS settings and 3 DP to compare. That's what I indicated sort of and got no response.

Not to get on the whole "DP is the greatest" cause I don't know. All I've ever had is an SCMT, Ford Stock, and DP. But........................I love how my truck runs on the DP 40hp Tow.
