Shock recommendations
My Bronc is used mainly for street and highway driving. It does have the heavy duty suspension with quad shocks on the front. I use the 4X4 to get through snow, mud, and offroad trails that regular trucks or cars cannot go on. But I don't really use 4X4 for heavy duty recreational use, for one thing it is my only 4 wheeled vehicle and I don't want to tear it up. So I am mainly concerned with shocks that will give me the most cushy highway ride and that will handle well on the street. I asked once before and a couple of people recommended to just get the stock Ford shocks. That might be a good idea, but it might be very costly, I don't know yet. I don't know if the factory shocks are gas shocks. I do know that gas shocks usually improve the handling of any vehicle that they are put on but I don't know how they will affact the ride of the Bronco. I think that overall I would value a smooth highway ride above all else when purchasing the shocks. I run Goodyear Wrangler 31X10.50X15 tires, I think they are the RT series, which I find give me a very good ride as well as good traction in the snow. I've heard people put them down but like motor oil it's all a bunch of hearsay and opinion to me and I've had great luck with the Wranglers, I've got over 40,000 miles and four years on my current set and they have worn uniformly and can go another 10,000 miles although I'm saving for a new set before winter.
