NYer Looking For Advice

Whats up PA? I was hoping to get some good input from you all. I am thinking about relocating from Long Island, NY to Pa. I will be out there Wed 9/13 interviewing for a job. While I'm there, my family and I will be poking around the Lewisburg area. The job would be in Washingtonville. Any info you could share about these areas would be greatly appreciated. Things to do, schools, taxes, whatever. We have been speaking with a real estate agent from Lewisburg about the area, so I'm sure she is only telling us the good things. I just want to know as much as possible before I go out there. Thanks in advance for your input.

P.S. I'm interviewing with PP&L, so anything you have to say about them would be appreciated too.

Lewisburg pros

Great town
Bucknell University
Located fairly close to many things

Lewisburg Cons

Federal Prison

I've always really liked the town but I dont know that if I had a family I would want them living so close to a federal pen.

From what I hear PPL pays real good. I live about 30 miles east of Washingtonville in Berwick. I think this area is great but that might be because I have always lived here. Are you looking to live in town or the country, if you let me know I can give better advice.

I definitely want to live in a town. There is some beautiful country out there but I dont think my family would adapt well to it. We just aren't used to it. And we are aware of the fed prison. We live very close to a county jail now, so I guess we could live with that. As long as they stay on the inside!!
