I've decided to piece together a sound system for my truck very carefully, as I didn't have such a great experience with my last "high-end" system. My truck is a 2004 F-150 Supercab FX4 w/o the factory sub.
Here's what I have picked out so far:
Pioneer DEH-6800MP
CAL. Profile amp 60x2 Fronts and 160x1 bridged Sub
Polk audio Db5250 5-1/4 components for fronts, and Db570 5x7's for the rears.
Rockford Fosgate Punch 10" stage 1 Sub in Q-logic box.
Do you guys think this will provide good bang-for-the-buck?
Are there holes predrilled in the door behind the door panel for the tweeters?
Where would be a good place to mount the amp?
About how much speaker wire will I need to go from the amp to the front speakers, and from the amp to the sub, which will be installed under the drivers side rear seat?
My installation included a profie amp under the passenger seat, 2 10" bazooka subs in a custom box under the back seat, alpine deck in dash, and component alpines in the doors. Yes there are holes for the tweets but they were not big enough so I had to make it bigger. I would say if the box you are using is the size mine but only has one sub it will give you a deeper bass, mine is tight but not as deep as it could be. Check out my pics. Also the rear speakers, take out the screws behind the handle access, behind the power window switch, and at the bottom of the door panal, remove the two top pop out pieces and remove those 2 screws and the door panal lifts right off. Good luck
