wire i need to find
ok,i posted this in the 80-86 forum and everyone ignored me,lol.well i ordered a D.U.I. H.E.I. distributer.and they say i need a switched 12V wire but idk wut wire i should use so ,thx ya'll

Run a new wire, at least 12 gauge, through the firewall and hook it into the fuse box. Find a spot in the fuse box that is hot in run and start.
The only other option is to run the wire to the ignition switch. It's mounted on top of the steering column, under the dash. You will have to find the correct color(may be pink, may be red/green) and splice into it.
The reason you cannot use the coil + wire you have now is it's a special resistance wire, and your new dist needs a full 12 volts. It draws a lot of current, so that's the reason for the large wire.
