well here's the situation. I have a 97 f150. I work at a chevy dealer(boo hiss, whatever, lol) and there's a 2000 expedition the same color sitting on the back lot ready to go to the auction. They'll let me swap pretty much anything I want off of it. With both cars there together how long should the swap take?
2-4 hrs depending on how much help you've got. Pull the bumpers off first, then the grill shell. You'll need to take the corner lights out to get to 2 screws behind them. IF you have an early production 97 (6/96 or earlier), the lights are mounted different. Just pull the 2 metal tabs behind the header panel. The head and corner light will come out in 1 piece. On the later version, there is 1 screw on top of the corner light. There are also 2 metal clips on the bottom of the shell.
I've got an early production 97 and those are all the problems I ran into upgrading my front end . I should also mention that if anyone w/ an early production 97 wants Lightning, Harley or aftermarket headlights, they need to replace the header panel too.
