Fuel Additives?

Tell me more about products such as Diesel Kleen, cetane booster, etc. What are the purposes, results, advantages, costs, etc?
How many miles do I need on my truck before I begin using said products? Just hit 2,000 miles. Does the engine need to be be broken in first?

I know nothing about this stuff. Thanks for any insight.

There are a lot of past threads on this issue and one that I started way back when is below...

https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/4...ives-dfas.html

Due a internet search on cetane and you'll learn why there are cetane boosters. The higher the cetane the better the efficiency of the burning fuel and better mileage and less noise from your motor.

Lubricity is added for injectors and fuel pumps.

Anti-gels are used in cold weather to prevent the fuel from "gelling" up.

Cleansers and injector cleaners are used just for what their name implies.

PowerService (buy at truckstop or Walmart) or Stanadyne (internet) are the two most popular and the two companies I called in my link above.

Good luck,
