Make sure you replace both batteries, if one is bad it will discharge the other one

You can get Optimas at BLAINE's FARM N FLEET or BATTERIES PLUS, I think many of the regular auto parts stores carry them
Optima batteries application sheet does not include a model # for the Ford Powerstroke diesels just look at the gasser application and get a second unit.
I was going to go that route and ended up just buying Sears GOLD diehard's
I paid like $89.99 each they are grey in color, came with a full three year FREE replacement warranty. I like that I can get them replaced at any SEARS in the country, they put my name in their computer.

My truck came with Optima red top batteries when I purchased it. From what the date stamp on the battery say's, that would have to be at least 8 years old, and still going strong.

Consumer Report just did a real good article on batteries. Napa's came out on top, but the Ever starts from Wal Mart were right behind Napa.

Wal-Mart sounds like the ticket. Read in another post you can get 1000CA & 850CCA batts for around $62.

Motorcraft MAX has a 3 year full replacement warranty and pro-rated thereafter. Ball park figure $85.00 a piece.

First off, heat is what ruins batteries. Second, there are only a few battery manufactures, and they make them to everyones specs. Napa, auto zone, and diehard are all good batteries with good warr. I would not spend the money on an interstate batt., the auto zone batt. in the same size will outlast the interstate and it's about $20-30 cheaper. Also, just a side note, if you do replace your batts. clean all of your grounds. I work in a tranny shop and we see more times than not that when a batt. is replaced people start to have problems. One way to help with this is to clean all grounds after batt. replacement.

I have been told that the Wal Mart brand batteries are made by the same people who make Sears Diehard. I have always had good luck with Diehards.

There are few manufacturers who badge batteries accordingly. I will say again, I have never had a problem taking something back to Wally. I have yet to take a battery back.

Also, food for thought. There are 5 Wally superstores within a 10 mile radius and one SEARS.
