Welcome aboard!! What year is your Excursion? Do you have a tuner yet? If not you could consider the Edge Juice w/ A2 monitor. It is an adjustable in cab controller for the Juice module that has an integrated GPS system and is also available now with a full color backup camera. I will BEAT any price anywhere in the US. I have one of these in my 2001 Excursion and love it. I havent been anywhere yet that hasnt been on the maps.
I also have the Edge Juice with A2 monitor and the GPS guided me through many turns on the forest roads outside of Flagstaff AZ a few weeks ago. I could not believe that the unit had all the dirt roads loaded and that it was so accurate.
Im about to make the economical move and just buy a Bluetooth gps receiver and TomTom6 for my cell phone/pocket pc all together Im lookin at about $75.00 total.
I have a simple Garmin 176c. I have it mounted on my dash right in the center. I didn't mind screwing the mount down to the dash beings I don't own the truck. Works great for me.
Magellen Roadmate 700. Now that I have it I can't live without it. It continuously amazes me with the depth of data it has, especially these back county forest and service roads. There's just no way to get lost, unless you're driving on the sea floor. Get one, you'll love it.
