nine inch rear end
i was wondering if any of the older trucks came with 4.10 to 4.88 gears stock and what to look for to know if i have the right one like door codes or engine size things like that any help would be awsome
p.s if you know of any in 9 inch with this gear combo would be better

If there was a factory 9" in the 70s with a 4.10:1 ratio it would be very rare. Most were 2.75, 3.0, and 3.55.
There is a tag on one of the bolts in the carrier housing, post all the information here and we can decode it for you.

Is this axle you are asking about for that truck ?
These are code to axle ratios.They don't necessarily mean they are 9" axles
The L stands for Limited Slip.

05 = 4.11 (69-77)
24 = 4.10 (73-78)
35 = 4.10 (1971)
36 = 4,56 (1971)
73 = 4.10 (69-77)
B4 = 4.10 (73-77)
C5 = 4.10 (1971)
G3 = 4.10 (69-74)
H3 = 4L11 (73-77)
H9 = 4L11 (78-80)
4.88's are found in F350's and they are Dana axles
FTE has a drivetrain forum for Specific drivetrain questions like axles,trans,transfer cases ,etc
