Why is it...............?
But before I had worked there, I used to have fun with all the new kids. And I still do from time to time.
Try to get them to look up parts for a chevy corvair, they always think you mean corvette. Also, next time one of yall go ask for a water pump for a 23 model T.
I called in for that and me and my buddy were rolling aroiund on the ground while we had the speaker phone on.
We even got my dad in on it cause it was his truck we were working on.
You can see pics in my gallery. My rig.
1. Went to Advanced for some grade 8 bolts, kid behind the counter looks at us then states they don't carry grade 8 bolts. Undetered, my buddy with me walks the kid back to the back and shows him where his company stores their grade 8 bolts.
2. Another Advanced, went in to pick up parts for my 88 and a buddy of mine's 88 as well. After getting everything I need for my 302, I tell them I need something for an 88 351W.
The parts guy: [blank stare at me]
Me: I know I just said 302, this is for a different 88 Bronco with a 351W.
The parts guy: No, it's not that, the bronco wasn't offered with a 351W.
Me: Um, yes it was, I'm quite confident. It has a 351w, you know, 5.8.
The parts guy: Um, NO, it didn't.
Me: Look it up in your computer.
The parts guy: [Looks it up and ponders how he made that blunder]
But I'm with everyone else, if I was getting parts for a Bronco II, I would ask for parts for a Bronco II. I already walk in and answer the questions before they ask "88 Bronco, 302" I really don't want to be snarky and add "No, it's a full size bronco, and it's 4x4 as it was never offered in two wheel drive".
MoMo
I'll be using some of your retorts in the near future. How long you reackon they would search for spark plugs or a distributor for my '01 Super Duty PSD?
After that ask for a waterpump for an old VW
