Noob here...
Anyway I have a F450 an '01 model. I want to add on a Baldwin air filter and do away with the battery on the drivers side. Has anybody had any luck operating their Diesel truck with a single battery. I found a marine battery that has the correct CCA and I think would work for me. But wanted to check to see if anyone else has tried this.
The reason for going to one battery would be to allow cool air to get to the air filter without drawing battery fumes into the air intake, and into the engine. Am I being paranoid re: acid fumes, how ever small amount, into the Air intake.
Thanks for reading.

... nothing to worry about from the battery running a baldwin or wix filter in a DIY Tymar setup. Hundreds, thousands of guys running that setup with no problems, especially in the older body style. You can take a look at my pics to see how the filter fits leaving the driver side battery in tact.
I'd think that it would be tough to get started running on one battery... up to you though. But honestly, you'd save work/money/risk of one battery not being strong enough to run on, if you just leave the driver side battery and install the filter and be done with it.
