Any big brake kit, from Brembo, Baer, Wilwood, SSBC, etc. is gonna run big bucks. I priced out the Brembo kit for my Navigator and it was around $5K. I ended up with Brembo OEM-spec replacement rotors and Hawk SUV pads and was really happy.
At least on our Impala SS, the baer kits start at $1300.
As ronin said, look at aftermarket rotors, solid pads, stainless steel brakelines and good brakefluid. Drill and/or slotted rotors and good pads will make a major difference, SS brakelines will put all the pressure to the pistons. SSBC makes (I think they call it) Force 10 caliper upgrades. I looked at them the other day, they run $1500, but 6 or 8 piston calipers will exert a major clamping force.
PS.
I did pads and rotor recently. Other than the lack of rotor surface, Superduty brakes are pretty good. Floating, two piston calipers and the rotor surface is quite big, it just doesn't look like it with that big hub.
Last time I looked at those sites (Brembo, SS BRAKES ETC.)for the larger brakes, nothing for the EX or F super duty. The new F's have larger brakes, but must use 17 inch rims for clearence. I think the only things availible today are better pads and drillled, sloted and/or cryo rotors in stock size.
true, ssbc only offers an 8 piston caliper and pads for $1795 but do not offer any rotors. they use your oem size rotor. brembo--no gots, baer--no gots, wilwood--no gots. there are no companies that offer a big brake kit for the X or SD. there are a couple that do offer oem rotors in slotted/drilled. i have the powersluts and hawks. they suck, imo. i baby my X, never trailer anything, 13000 miles, pads are at 0/32" never any noise from squealers, trashed. i talked to josh at DPPI, $725 shipped. sounds steep??? for 4 cryo rotors and 2 sets of hawk lts pads.
Mark at DPPI, is this correct, he wasn't sure about the rotors being different because i had to tell him that the 4X4 had floating rotors. if you see this, could you send me a pm and hook me up a little bit? thanks..

The links are a place to start, you'll still need to check if there's an application or not; I can't do everything .
Buybrakes.com and the Tire Rack carry multiple manufacturers with good product selection and applications. Stainless lines and good brake fluid are great suggestions too...
I hopped under my 2001 this afternoon only to discover that both rear brakes were frozed in the applied position. I thought that was the worst of my luck but lucky for me only a 1/3rd of the pad is contacting the rotor!
$750 for brakes is absolutely ridiculous. I was looking through some of our wholesalers and we can pick up rotors & pads for the whole vehicle for $250.
Is the 2 piece rotor an upgrade from Carolina Clutch or is it a Ford revision that they're just reselling?
