I was wondering if any knows for sure. I was under the understanding that for a year or two before the 6.9 was put in the trucks that the 3208 cat was offered as a option in the f-350 dulley 2 wheel drive thanks
3208 cats were never offered in a light truck. Meduim duty F550, F650 yes.
These are 10 litre medium duty engines, offererd in a natualy asprirated 160 hp all the way up to a 500 hp rating in marine turbo'd intercooled LIGHT operation usage.
Contimuous rated rating of about 300-325hp if you want durability. Limited RPM band, so more than the usual small truck transmissions are in order. Say a Clark 5 sp with a split rear end. 7 spd trans would also be good (not a 6 speed, either you give up low end, or high end or if wide ratio, then you can't get past the gaps between the gears if pulling a load)
