I have a 2000 X with V10. I have a problem that is getting worse. When my X has been sitting overnight it does not want to crank. It acts like it is starving for gas. I changed the fuel filter and air filter - that didn't help. It is getting harder to crank. Once you get it going it is fine for the rest of the day. It is time for a tune up. Could it just be a plug/wires issue? It seems like a fuel issue. Please help.
No battery problem...it will turn over all day long. It will try to run but die out. If you can get it started and nurse it a little it is fine. But the first few times it starts it dies out like it isn't getting gas.
Idle air control solenoid is stuck shut. It's not getting any air. It is mounted on the rear of the throttle body. You can remove it and clean it or buy a new one. Crack the throttle while cranking, and it will get a little air, but that is just enough to get home.

Sounds right to me, my F150 had a similar issue. New IACS got it going again. Too lazy to attempt repair. Jim
WOW!! That was it. They don't make it easy to get to! Took it off - it was stuck, cleaned it up - freed it up, put it back on. No problems now! Truck running smooth, cranking fine, little better gas milage. Thanks!!!! (Oh, and ROLE TIDE!!!) Glad you didn't know that before you answered.
