I have an oppitunity to buy a '66 4-door, in decent shape, the motor is outa it, but a freshened-up 300 6 banger is in the bed , along with a 3/4 ton rear with 3.55 gears outa a 1995 250. He wants $2500 for it. Is it worth it? Happy holidays to everyone!

 

Not hardly, Without an engine under the hood maybe $600.00 if you really want one.

In the cool still quiet of night, you can hear chevies rusting away.

 

You might want really check out he truck before making a decicion. Rust areas include:
Cab corners, floorboards (behind each front wheel), rain gutters, radiator core support (in front of each front wheel), and the bed floor behind the cab.
These are the most common rust areas. Also check the manufacturer. I think that if the rear doors have hidden hinges, its made by Ford. If they are visible, it was made by someone else and therefore wont fetch the higher value.
