timming proublems
i am havin a issues with the timming the motor is a built 460 all roller msd box and coil and dis. i just finshed the motor and ran it last night it is a truck pulling motor i didnt get on it at all till the pull and it wouldnt go over 3500 rpms it was shooting flams out the headers and it woul just about died so i tryed to retime it and since a have a welded dis i time it on a idel at dial the gun in at 36 but for the heck of it i reved it up and the timming moves it retards rilly bad when ya give it about 3000 rpms and pops but it goes back when it idels so i got home and tryed a differnt dis and same thing so i tryed a differnt box still did it so i tryed a coil and even another box still dose it so i am lost all the wireing is good i did notice a bit of wear on the bronze gear but not 2 bad the cam might be getting bad? it all worked fine in my last motor any one have any ideas thanxs

yea i put my old one in it just a stock one i welded up i did notice that the gear looks like it was not sitting right cause of some wear on it i did put a differnt dis in it to try it and that one had a stock steel gear and it was not sitting right it was starting to wear so i my bronze gear on it it did seem to help but i have to advance it so bad i cant even start the truck in order for it not to retard so bad that it wont run but there is 2 spots on the gear and i am not shure witch on i had it one befor when it worked in my old motor could the gear not sitting right throw off the timming that bad? i am lost
