Living around the DC Metro area I don't see many V-10's. The majority of Super Duty's have diesels and the rest are 5.4's. The dealerships only carry diesels in the loaded packages like Lariat's and 5.4's in the XLT's.
We just spent a week camping up on the coast of Maine. We stayed at a campsite just south of Portland called Baileys on Pine Point. There were V-10's everywhere. Most of the vacation campers were from up north and Canada and there were very few diesels. I counted more than 20 V-10's in our area of the campground, most of them pulling 5-ers.
It's funny how your ear becomes tuned in to that V-10 sound. Every time someone cranked up one of those V-10's I could pick it out immediately.
Yep the v10 is nice then again the diesel is nice as well, I think it just boils down to where you live, and what you can afford, as far as power I have a v10 and love it BUT the diesel will run away from me. jmho
crazyrwe, was that a shot at diesels!??? wow.......... ha ha....... But true enough, a V10 has it's own unique sound. I am still getting used to it. I find myself explaining to the kids about how a V10 has a near perfect firing order which creates the sounds it makes compared to a V-8 which has the alternate firing to make the pop-pop, pop-pop....
Well PHWLEE , I'd be lying if I wasn't taking a little shot. I drive the 6.0's at my work, and believe me,if that truck is still running after all the abuse my boss puts it through ,it's a keeper.
