OK, I'M SURE THIS GETS ASKED QUITE A BIT BUT I'M HAVING NO LUCK IN THE SEARCH.
I HAVE A 85 F-150 WITH A 5.8LTR. CARBURATED WINDSOR AND A BAD C-6 TRANNY. I ALSO HAVE A GOOD AOD, BUT I'M NOT SURE WHAT IT OUT OF.
CAN ANYONE TELL ME IF WILL BOLT UP OK AND IF I HAVE ANY UNUSUALLY DIFFICULT PROBLEMS TO LOOK FORWARD TO?
The AOD engines mostly came behind smallblock ford v8's. 302/351/etc. They also came behind the 300 inline six, and a couple other engines. I'd say most probably it came from either one of the SBF's or the six. Either way it should bolt right up to your engine.
The only thing to be careful of especially when installing the aod is the tv rod/cable, if it isn't adjusted properly, you can burn the transmission up in under 5 minutes flat.
Thanks desperado_18_2000!
I just got the C-6 out and found a small differance in the two.
The A.O.D. has 3 starter bolt holes. The C-6 has 2 but no big deal, i'll just buy another starter with 3 bolt holes too.
