Hello fellow old ford lovers. I have just found a 1962 mercury-unibody. Iam not really formiliar with this model, they seem to be quite rare up here-canada. Any way being of sound mind? Inow own it.Istarted looking on web for info and this site seems to have lots of knowlegible memebers.I have allready looked through the past messages-any thing with uni looking info anyway. lots of great stuff. What my problem is -I got ahold of Ford Canada costumer service-was hoping to get build sheet, production # ,paint colors, etc. The guy took the vin# and said no problem-they would have info in 2-3 weeks.Today research phoned-said#-not right.checked truck-thats# allright. CAN ANYONE HELP? I know truck is unibody-really good condition-wasregister as 1962. Plate on cab says serial #-61019A-5661022-L Trim-01 Paint 2-RW Axle ratio 3.89.1 Series M-F 100 WB 122 Engine NP-3LD Thats all thats on it. Truck has tail gate with MERCURY stamped on it-latches-2-on top corners of tail gate. MERCURY-100 chrome emblem on front fenders upper rear.Only has key lock on passenger door.Six-3 on tree. Any info or advice would be really appreciated .truck only has 41760 miles on clock. Iam going to start working on it as soon as snow melts-if its rare should probable keep stock. Was last started in 1994 so maybe will drive away? There was post post from Kenny 22 mar 01 with prod# for ford unibodys anything on merc,s Thanks in advance 62 MERC
Dayrl, Look along the passenger side frame rail, about under the battery and you should find the vin stamped into the metal running from front to back. There is also a Yahoo club exclusive to 61-66 trucks and there are several members with unis, including Canada. The link to that club is below.
