I have a 1990 bronco. I'm currently building a 5.0 h.o. that I'm going to install in it. I was looking at some differnet cams that I would like to run in it. I have been looking at some truck cams from comp cams and holley. How big can the cam be before I have to switch to a maf snsr.
the truck had a stock 5.0 in it. I plan on running 33" tires, posibly a set of 35". It isn't my primary vehicle. But I have been considering install the axles from my 86 f-250. The trucks main purpose will be wheeling.
no benefit from the f250 front end so dont bother unless its the solid axle version. to be honest you wont see much of a gain going from a stock 5.0 - 5.0ho.
I had a 5.0 in my 88 originally running stock gears and 31's. the bronco was a dog to say the least. i even installed headers and free flowing exhaust and didnt help much. I swapped in a 95 5.8 motor and it was nite/day difference. I then installed lift and tires but kept the stock gears. even with 35's and 3.55 gears the 5.8 moves me better then my 302 did on 31's. this is all thru an AOD tranny as well.
just things to consider i am not trying to steer ya away from your build.
