overheat after stopping
ive got a 1971 E-100, while driving the oil temp is about 180-190 and stays consistant but when i park and shut off the engine it raises to about 210 to 220 within a matter of minutes. i realize that its gonna go up some after stopping but this seems excessive. What would be the possible causes of this also i have an electric fan as well as the attached engine mounted fan.

Is the right thermostat in the engine. If the thermostat has been removed the coolant moves through the motor so fast it doesn't pickup the heat properly and at shutdown there is more heat left in the motor than normal.
