We have a forum here specifically for engine swaps and normally I would move your post there, but it just so happens I'm in the middle of a 5.0 Ranger swap myself, so I'd be happy to tell you what I can. We have other members here who also have V8 Rangers so I would imagine they'll chime in as well.
Your profile says your Ranger is a '94. There are some differences between that body style and my '89 but I think most of the particulars will still apply. Read this thread where some of the things you may encounter are discussed:
