I have a 1999 Ford Ranger. I have to have in Inspected by tomorrow so I have to replace my windshield wiper blade on the drivers side. I bought my truck used and it did not come with an owners manual. I have the Dual wiper system by Arista. The directions on the new blade say to see the owners manual to see what type of of "arm style" my truck has. Since I do not have the owners manual I cannot look. Does anyone know which style the 99 Ranger has? How do I get the blade off? I think I can handle putting the new one one, but I cant get the old one off. Thanks in advance for your help
Smile real nice and ask the guys at the autoparts store. They will do it for you. There should be a little clip where the end of the wiper arm connects to the frame for the blade. Push down on the clip, pull the frame toward the bottom of the arm and it should slip right off. I'd recommend that you replace the wiper blade and wiper blade frame. The frame with the blade only costs and extra buck or two and is worht the time it will save you. Once you've seen it done once you will be able to do it yourself.
Jen, you can down load a owners guide by going to the "My Ford" web site & regestering your vehicle, loging on & scrolling down & clicking on the "Resource Center" & find "Owners Guide". It's in PDF format. Other good info there too!!!! https://myford.fordvehicles.com/
If you want a printed one like that supplied with your vehicle, try a salvage yard, you can often find them at no cost, in the glove box, or order a new one from "Helm Inc".
Thanks Pawpaw.... Im sure that will come in handy in the future... I went for my Inspection yesterday and FAILED.... why?? because I need a new gas cap... oh man was I pissed
