I have a predicament
This Saturday I am to purchase a 95 250 ECLB 4x4 7.3 ZF
I already have a 94 150 RCLB 4x2 302 M5 that I was going swap in a 351 ZF with a 3.55ls. I was thinking that I would keep both until I have completed my "practice" with the 150.
Now that the guys at work found out my plans, there are a couple of guys that want to buy my 150. My 150 was only to supposed to be practice for when I found a 250 to do a frame off and have a toy truck. The 250 that I am buying is in great shape and has an excellent history.
The guy here at work takes great care of his stuff and I know that it would be going to a good home. BUT-----I haven't finished my powertrain practice and I would then be left with parts that I most likely would not use; motor, trans, driveshaft, and diff.
So here's the hard part: should I sell my 150?
What are your plans with the F-150 if you kept it? Just own a truck with that setup or sell it?
If you're just using it for experience and then are going to dump it....than it's totally up to you but a 351/zf truck is a nice combo in an F-150 (wasn't available that way).
The 250 will be all the truck that I need. Owning two trucks would be nice, but greedy and expensive. I know that I will always take the diesel at every chance. It will out perform the 351 in every aspect as well.
I was planning on selling it years from now after I tweaked it and was ready to do an old Mustang. The motor can be saved for a 65 Mustang, the ZF would sell for a good price, and I don't know what I would do with a rebuilt 8.8.
