Adding a remote transmission filter
I mounted mine up front but I have seen people mount them inside the right fender well. Mounting here will leave plenty of room for filter changes and it is close to the secondary trans cooler. The kit comes with enough hose to complete the installation here.

The X minus the bumper

I used the bar that runs side to side in front of the radiator. The filter mount comes in a triangular shape with three screw holes. The mount is to wide to fit here as there is a lip on the bar. Since I did not want to cut the lip on this bar and risk removing structural strength for the truck I decided to cut the top off the filter mount and use just two screws.

Here is the mount ready to install. (disregard the the extra cut in the middle, it's "suppose" to be like that to add character) You can cut yours straight if you like.

The trans cooling lines run from the trans to the top of the radiator and then to the secondary cooler on the inboard side (looking from the front of the car it will be on the right). I simply removed the line from the cooler and ran a new line to the marked "in" side of the filter mount. Then I ran a line from marked "out" of the filter mount to the same place I removed the line on the secondary cooler.

I ran the lines with a little play so they will not kink as they enter and leave the filter mount. Now just screw on the filter, it is a normal oil filter type of filter. Start it up check for leaks and it is all done. This will add life to the transmission and I have heard that it improves the shifting.
I assume that changing the fluid is a good idea when you install this. I dd not since my fluid is fairly new (about 1500 miles).
Hope this helps
Scott
