I have a 2002 f250 diesel that recently started stalling for about a second or so then picking back up if moving or if at a light having to restart the engine. It might not stall again for 20 or 30 miles then it does it again. I have drained the fuel/water seperator and replaced the filter to no avail. Stalling has always happened when engine is at normal operating temperature. My friends 1999 f350 is having the same problem but he has lived with it for about a year now. Any ideas?

The first answer to stalling problems on these engines is always the Cam position sensor (CPS). If you are not in a hurry for one, you can get them on ebay a lot cheaper than the dealer.
It was not raining any of the times it has happened so far. The only change is I am driving it far less (once or twice a month). I used to drive it 60 miles a day but caved and purchased a small *#@!box that gets 30 mpg. The stalling didn't occur till after I started driving it less. I keep it away from the weather in my garage. I saw one on ebay starting at 50.00 I will probably get that one.

CPS wont always throw codes especially if it is an intermittant CPS problem. With a 2002 you cant use the tach trick to check but what you are describing is exactly what mine has done and I am on my 3rd.
