If you are going the route of buying a new trans try calling Troyan Performance Specialties (604) 702-1050. They are just outside Vancouver in Chilliwack, read some good stuff about their builds, most likely be the ones to build up my trans when it craps out. About the same price as the BTS, but you won't get bent over on the duty, taxes and shipping.
Thanks for the tip D. I just got off the phone with them. Probably order one later today once the pricing guy gets back. I talked to the builder and he had a good build in mind for my application.
I had a Jasper Trans put in my '96 F350 $2900 includes TC New external cooler and 3year 75,000 mile warrenty. Blankie
jasper had also rebuilt the tranny in my truck. it was done when i bought the truck but the tranny is still doing great for me. i would highly recomend them as a rebuild. best bang for the buck!

Make sure you get a big tranny cooler in there such as the 6.0 PSD version. Heat is enemy #1.
Don't bother having a local shop rebuild the tranny. Tried that on two other vehicles and always had problems soon down the road. If you have a local shop pull the tranny insist it be replaced with a reputable shop's rebuilt model such as BTS, Troyan, Suncoast, etc.
