pinging 3.0

94 3.0 137000 miles. this is driving me nuts! i get the dreded ping at moderate pedal but only after i've drivin about 8 miles or so. drive this thing cold and it runs like a new vehichle.
things i have done so far:full tune up, new o2 sensor, new ect sensor, new act sensor. new fuel filter and pcv valve.
also checked timing, spot on at 10 degrees btdc with spout removed.
i pulled codes and this is were it gets confusing. i first get 111 sys ok then i get
one flash 4 second pause,flash 2 second pause,flash 2 second pause,flash, 4 second puase,flash 2 second pause,flash 2 second pause, flash.
to me that is 133 wich doesn't match any code list i have seen.
koer test passes as well as cylinder balance test.
any ideas? p.s. i also cleaned my maf with no sign of any improvement.
thanks

Hi James:

Welcome to our FTE forum

Pinging is usually caused by 2 things: carbon build up or leaky transmission modulator.

What you described is just the same code 111 sent twice, which is the way it's supposed to be.

t-modulator was replaced about 6 months ago. pulled the vacuum line and it is dry. if i do have carbon buildup, would premium 93 octane make it go away, temporaraly?
thats my next step. then i guess a bottle of seafoam.

water spray injection works best...search aero forum...water injection carbon combustion
1 qt into hot engine 2000 rpm thru 1/8" tube in thru hole in throttle body plate with air tube off
used in high performance piston engines for 50 years, car racing and extreme high performance piston aircraft engines, Spitfire Rolls Royce Merlin also used in Mustang and British Mosquito plywood bomber that was faster than all fighters at the time.....water injected engines, Offenhausers, won more Indys than any engine in history
spotless combustion chambers even with the extremely high t. lead octane addtives of the time

high octane 89>93 add to c.c. buildup with deposits, slower burning fuel=more deposits in low combustion engine such as Aero....use only 87 except in cause of emergency

some run out and search all over for deionized water then actually pay lots of money for it....but, hey, engines suck in tons of atmospheric air with moisture and it's not deionized
