Looking for some advice. My 05 FX4 CC PSD started feathering the front left tire at 12K. Took it to the dealer and they aligned it for me. Now I at 30K and the front end has started feathering both front tires.
Also when I hit bumps at slow speed I can hear a thump or knock in the front end. Not sure if they are related but usually where there is smoke there is fire.
Recall seeing some folks on here discussing front ends and having them replaced. Looking for advice and indications they had to lead the dealer into replacing the front end. Also what did they replace?
Going into the dealer Wed and like to go in guns loaded.
Were the tires rotated after first dealer trip? for this problem? proper tire pressure being used?
There are new spec's for front end alignment now
Tow in or tow out could be off .
you may have a bad ball joint already ,I know it sounds premature ,but it has happened.
Do you tow alot heavey weight with this vehicle?
Give the dealer a chance before loading the guns!!!!!

I'm thinking a possible ball joint or tie rod end. I have gotten brand new ball joints that were bad right out of the box. You can check this yourself by jacking up the front end..grab the tire...try moving it up and down..if it has any play then it's a bad ball joint (sometimes you need someone to move it up and down for you while you look behind for play) Then try moving it left to right..if it moves then you have a bad tie rod end.
