factory A/C

If I get my early '77 factory A/C working will it be worth the trouble? Do they work well enough for middle Georgia heat? My system is complete on the truck but I do not know the condition of the parts.

Thanks

You may need to convert to R134a, there is info in the HVAC forum.

Go for it - you won't regret it. I live just south of Atlanta - I added factory air to my 73 F-100, and converted it to 134. It will keep me comfortable on 95 degree days here...

I have a 79 with factory air, when I was in Mexico I had it recharged and needed a oz or so of oil.It blows cold, but it seems to take it 10 -20 mins. to really cool the cab down. If it worked like my 91 Probe I would be a lot happier. It's also R12,and had it recharged and oiled at the same place

thanks everyone. The truck has all the components attached and in place but it could get expensive anyway. My '91 beats everything else i own so I hoped the '77 would be good too.
