Ordering new truck

I own a 2005 Dully 6.0 and Ford is buying it back under the lemon law. I want to order a new one and am considering waiting for the 6.4. Now I have a 4:10 rear end with 17 inch tires. I average 14.0 on the lie o meter.
My question is, are the taller tires with the higher gear ratio a good choice for fuel economy and occasional towing to 12,000lbs?

I think I would still stick to 4.10 gearing for the added ump for towing 12K.

Turbo trouble among other things, which I think caused the engine to overheat and scored the cylinder walls. Whatever the cause they replaced the engine and since I have still had turbo clattering noise and surging. It has broken down three times since the new engine was installed.

Ford made me a cash offer which is called a cash and keep but I turned it down. [Edited by kw5413].

I was pulling a horse trailer with two horses in it up a hill at a slow speed. The temperature guage got as hot as it could get but I could not safely stop. I heard an explosion that sounded like a gunshot and the truck stopped. I let it cool and checked under the hood. Nothing out of the ordinary under the hood. No coolant, no oil. I started it later and it ran about 30 miles an hourand would not shift out of second. I limped back to camp. The next day it started and ran reasonable well. I made it home and took it to ford and they made some adjustments and sent me home. I tested it on a steep hill near my house and it was heating up slightly more than normal. I complained about it because I knew that there had to something seriously wrong. They pulled the motor and found scored cylinder walls and I think a crack. They put a new engine in it and the first time I used it it broke down. They fixed it and the next time I pulled my trailer it broke down at the same place about an hour from home, I filed a claim then and that was last December.

I am leaving for hunting now and won't be back for a few days.
