My son will be driving up in a bit to get dad to help him put new brake pads on the front of his 04 F150. I have done brakes on a 92 before, but nothing any newer. We will be getting the rotors turned also.
Just wanted to find out if I would run into anything unexpected with the newer model. I run a 66 F100 and moderate that forum.
Well we found an unexpected 1 1/2" spindle nut that we had to buy a socket for. The local NAPA dealer that was supposed to turn the rotors couldn't because of the straight spindle. Said he couldn't afford the $4000.00 adapter for his lathe.
Just not a good sat morning for replacing brakes.

Is your 04 F-150 still under the 3/36 warranty? I just had my rotors, caliper assemblies including new included pads, and bearings replaced free under a TSB. If you have less than 36000 miles you can get your dealer to do it for free if you have warped rotors. Ford changed the design of the rotors and caliper assemblies. If you need the number of the TSB I will send it to you.
