A guy in Regina wanted to buy a Taurus wagon taillight from me. He would not send cash to pay for it and delivery. He did not seem to trust me. so I agreed to send it COD . He agreed to this also. So I sent the taillight on the STC and it came back. The guy refused it. He never opened the package. It cost me $15.00 and I got nothing. If I want my money on the tallight I have to sell it now for more than it is worth. I have not done anything COD in a long time. I will no longer do COD if I the seller am going to get stung with a cost of something that some idiot refuses.
So from now on they pay in advance and postage or delivery cost. I know I'm honest enough to send it. This guy is not honest enough to accept something that he said he would take.
Ohhh I'm just pissed. I got to stop or say *&%&$$)^** here.
That sucks 66, seems like thats what you get for tring to help some joker out. I would be tempted to go on a road trip, and "talk" him into giving you your money back, and some fuel money for your trip.
I sell stuff on ebay every once in a while and it seems like about 1 in 10 high bidders is a deadbeat and you never hear from them after the auction or you get some lame excuse why they can't pay you.You are stuck paying the ebay fees unless you want to risk negative feedback by filing a claim. Was the guy from Regina a forum member or did he contact you through an ad elsewhere?
It was an ad on usedregina I saw. Contacted him. He agreed to the price and refused to pay me first. Asked it to be shipped cod. Then do the refusal trick when it got there. Maybe he works for STC and is helping them to make money.
Is the ebay fee fairly expensive if they dont pay...?
It is just the normal fees ebay charges whenever you sell something except you are paying them and not getting any cash from the buyer to cover them.Ebay should be called feebay as they nickel and dime you to death. It is about 35 cents to list something cheap and the first picture is free and you pay another fee based on a percentage of the final value. So a basic auction for something less than $10 you might get away with about 70 cents in fees. You pay extra for more pics, titles in bold, little gallery pics beside the auctions, setting a reserve, higher opening price etc etc so if you get all the do-dads it could cost $2-3 for the listing and then the percentage of the final value added on later. And then if someone pays you by Paypal, which ebay owns, they get another fee.
